  • The Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Information Sharing Scheme

The Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Information Sharing Scheme (Scheme) was implemented on 1 July 2022 to ensure accessible and affordable service and repair information for Australian repairers and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).

Under the mandatory Scheme, all Australian motor vehicle repairers and RTOs have fair access to the necessary information for vehicle servicing, repairs, and training. The Scheme applies to vehicles manufactured on or after 1 January 2002. Safety and security information regarding a vehicle is subject to specific restrictions, outlined below. All other Scheme information can be accessed by registered repairers and RTOs through a subscription to this website managed by the Australian Automotive Service and Repair Authority (AASRA).

Please note that certain safety and security information will only be available to repairers and RTOs who meet specific access criteria defined in the Scheme rules. This includes service and repair manuals containing safety information for Electric Vehicles (EVs), Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs), and security information related to a vehicle's security system.

In compliance with the Scheme, repairers and RTO employees requesting access to safety and security information must meet legal requirements. For safety information requests, proof of competency in servicing and repairing EVs, HEVs, BEVs, and FCEVs (such as completion of the RTO/TAFE course 'AURETH001 Depower and Reinitialize Battery Electric Vehicles' or equivalent training from another reputable automotive brand) is required. For security information requests, a police check confirming the absence of convictions for fraud, theft, or motor vehicle-related offenses must be provided.

Chery Motor has partnered with AASRA to support requests for safety and security information by repairers and RTO employees. For more information regarding AASRA, please visit: https://aasra.com.au
